Family Help, Inc is a non profit 501 (c) (3) Delaware Corporation established in 2010. In April of 2010 we purchased a four unit apartment building in Middletown and began it’s operation. Scores of community volunteers donated time and materials to rehabilitate, furnish, and decorate the four housing units. Four families were selected through a sophisticated selection process and began residence in August of 2010. Care is taken to select families who can be helped in a reasonably short period of time so maximum impact can be made toward alleviation of the of the ongoing housing problem and many families positions of poverty. It is anticipated that the families we help can be stabilized and moved into permanent housing within twelve months or less. At any given time there are over 2,000 people in families in delaware and 80 families in the Appoquinimink School District who are without adequate housing, many with no permanent address at all.

Family Help, Inc. was started by caring citizens who wanted to make a difference by helping local families in crisis. It was determined that there was indeed a lack of resources for struggling families in New castle County, especially in the Middletown, Odessa and Townsend Communities.

The generosity of many individuals and groups from the MOT area has allowed FHI to meet an important need in our community, but, in these challenging times, FHI needs your support. In order for us to continue this noble work, please consider making a tax deductible donation to help FHI continue it’s mission. Your donation will provide basic needs for homeless families who seek to create a better financial foundation for themselves and their families and assist us in our current efforts to expand by adding two more apartments at the current site bringing our apartment total to six. Together we can make a difference in the lives of some of our homeless families in the Middletown area. Please see our contact page for where donations can be sent, please make checks out to Family Help, Inc. In addition we can always use donations of food to help stock our current four units, clothing – gently worn especially in kids sizes, furniture – new or used in good condition and your time, talents and skills as they may apply to the many facets of our ongoing endeavor to help families in need.
